Life Insurance
Protecting your future. — Life insurance can be a savings plan for your retirement, or a way to help your family in the event of your passing, to pay off your mortgage, or help settle a business partnership. And some life insurance policies can be like a savings plan for your kids or grandkids.

Different Types of Life Insurance
There are many Life Insurance options, for various needs and situations, even more than listed here. This website offers a brief overview, not an in-depth study of insurance.
You can do so much for your family with life insurance, from giving them some financial security to giving your kids and grandkids a jumpstart on their savings future.
Insurance Options
Whole Life
Whole Life Insurance is more expensive than Term Life, because you are paying for more options. There is no time-limit like Term Life so long as you make your payments, and it may include a cash value option earning interest.
Term Life
Term Life Insurance is purchased for a set number of years, like 10 or 20 years. You make your payments and in the event of death during those years, the beneficiaries of the policy receive the face value of the policy. At the end of the policy period if the insured is still alive the contract ends. There are no more payments and the policy has no value. This is why Term Life is a low-cost option. You are only paying for the pure cost of the insurance based on the insured’s age and the odds of death during the policy term, hence the name Term Life.
Annuities
Annuities options: Fixed – Variable – Indexed.
The idea for many people buying Annuities is to create an income stream for later years, by paying an insurance company a lump sum or payment amounts and then receive income from that investment. Note: Selling Variable Annuities requires a Securities license.

Additional Life Insurance Options
Variations of Whole Life and Term Life.
Universal Life – Similar to Whole Life Insurance with some additional benefits. Generally, certain changes can be made without re-writing the policy and it may also be possible to use the accrued interest to make payments when needed. The interest rate may be connected to current market rates.
Variable Life – While similar to Whole Life, Variable Life creates the potential for higher returns and dividends by investing in the stock market, like mutual funds.
Variable Universal Life – A little more complicated combination of Whole Life and Variable Life Insurance.
Simple Issue Life – Simple because if you answer the health questions and are healthy, you may be able to quickly get an insurance policy without have to wait for physical exam, and underwriting.
Guaranteed Issue Life – No health questions to answer and no exam, which will probably make it expensive for most people, but maybe the only option for the elderly.
Specialty Insurance Options
Insurance options for travel, business, mortgage, and more.
Accidental Death and Dismemberment – Pays if death is accidental by the terms of the policy.
Travel Insurance – Limited to a travel event or events. Can be very useful when traveling to foreign countries.

Mortgage Life – Helps pay off a home mortgage.
Credit Life – Helps pay off a debt, such as a car loan.
Credit Insurance is specific to the named credit loan and event, to help pay-off that debit.
Final Expense – Whole Life in small amounts to cover burial expenses.
Burial Insurance – To pay for funeral expenses.
Burial Plans or Pre-Pay Plans – Often available from local Funeral Homes. (Not insurance.)
Joint Life – One insurance policy that covers two people.
Business – To protect the survivor(s) of a business partnership, also other people or assets that need protection from loss.
