Arts – Museum – Events District
Just west of downtown is the Arts, Museum and Events District, along 7th Street and Lancaster Avenue and University Drive to Montgomery Street. This area is loaded with shopping and dining, along with our Arts & Museum area, plus the annual Stock Show & Fair. Some of the many attractions are:
Kimbell Art Museum, Amon Carter Museum of American Art, Modern Art Museum of Fort Worth, Casa Manana, Fort Worth Museum of Science and History, Fort Worth Community Arts Center, Fort Worth Botanic Gardens, National Cowgirl Museum and Hall of Fame, Will Rogers Memorial Center, the new Dickie’s Arena, and a huge Montgomery Street Antique Mall. Will Rogers Center host many events each month.
What To Do Around Town!
Nextdoor is a good source to find things to do around town. Nextdoor has recently added a new feature for finding neighborhood decorations for seasons like Halloween and Christmas. Nextdoor Holiday Map.
Fort Worth Area 55+ Senior Fun Group shares posts of activities and things to do in Fort Worth, Tarrant County, and surrounding areas.
Facebook has a list of local events that have been posted, and of course, there are thousands of groups to join on almost any subject in the world.
Antiquing is a fun way to spend a morning or afternoon, it’s interesting, often finding great bargains, and it is a pleasant way to get out of the house and get some exercise.
Two of my favorites are Westside Antique Marketplace and Ties 2 The Past.
